We Want Spectacular Views

I wrote before that I break my life into years. So far the defeating year of 2004 has been the best year of my life. Through all the troubles I found a way to grow more than I ever had in years past. So now that 2005 is hours away from being over, how does it rate? Well it wasn't filled with all the crap of 2004. Generally I was much happier this year, but I wouldn't put it at the top of my list. It was a transition year. I'm like a sports team in a rebuilding period hoping that my rookies will develop, I'll get a high position in the upcoming draft, and I'll be able to catch a top free agent in the offseason. That's 2005 and probably the first little bit of 2006. You support the team, but it's kind of boring to watch the games. Anyway, there were some high points. The Coachella Festival was great. The Comedy Festival in Vegas was awesome...and now I know how it feels like to live in a warehouse.....................So later 2005.

Here's to 2006!!!

See you at the draft.

There Are Worse Ways For A Guy To Spend His Time Than To Sit And Think Of You

Here it is. The anti-climactic (insert lame sex joke here) conclusion of my little guy code series...

NEVER GO AFTER A FRIEND'S EX

Okay, I don't care who you are and how cool you think you can be, but no guy is completely alright with a buddy going after one of his ex-girlfriends (ugh). So really you should just stay away from this whole deal. Your pal might tell you all that he completely supports your pursuit of his ex but that's just a lie (that's not to say he isn't at least somewhat supportive). Anyway, there are a few reasons why you should stay away from this. The main one being that your buddy may still have some unresolved feelings and/or issues with the chick.

Exceptions? Ask yourself a question: Is she worth losing (a) friendship(s) over? If the answer is yes then go for it. I mean you may not completely lose a friendship but it will change for the worse, at least to some degree.

That being said I'll add a little personal touch like I like to do. There's only one girl I've been involved with that I think it would absolutely suck if one of my friends went after her, and if someone were to come up to me and ask me if I was okay, I'd say "no" instantly. Why? Because I said so damn it. Now go to the kitchen and make me some dinner.....what?........Because I still want her. OBVIOUSLY.......and something in me just wont give up. OBVIOUSLY..............and I think I might still have a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny chance. SUPPOSOBLY ( <---haha I just alienated all but one person) I mean OBVIOUSLY..............and I've run out of things to say. I'M SEXY (that's right)...

Kobetime

As we're sitting at the table eating In N Out, my pal and I were just in awe. See we're both born and raised southern Californians therefore born and raised Lakers fans. In fact I was born into showtime (if you're my age and you want to make an older Laker fan feel old just tell them that). My first words were "Magic" and "Johnson" (that's not true). My entrance into sports fandom began with the Lakers. When we got Shaq I almost went to the mall that day to buy his jersey, of course I was only in junior high and had no money of my own. And when we got our dirty little hands on Kobe Bryant he became my favorite NBA star. I knew that I'd have the chance to see the development of someone special on my team. Even after all the bullshit I'm still a Kobe fan and I will remain a Kobe fan till the day he takes off that purple and gold uniform for good, which I hope is not till his retirement. Sure it's easy to criticize Kobe. He can be a ball hog, but when you see some of the shit he does can you really blame him? Do you really want Kobe to pass the ball to SmushParker or Sasha Vouaeaoiwheehcoiawheoccichk? Phil Jackson told reporters that after Sunday night's ugly loss to Huston, Bryant was being too generous with the ball giving it to players who couldn't make a shot when he could have just taken it himself. Phil gave Kobe the greenlight on Tuesday night. Kobe put his foot to the floor. 62 freaking points after 3 quarters. 30 points in the third alone. At the end of the third it was Mavs - 61 Kobe - 62. Wrap your head around that. He outscored the entire Mavericks team. They showed shots of Cuban just sitting there looking like a family member just died, along with retired Shaqtime Laker Rick Fox, who used to have to guard Kobe in practice, just cheering his former teammate on. Last night was a sickening performance by the Mamba. I'm just glad I got to see it.

These Memories Lose Their Meaning When I Think Of Love As Something New

It's morning I haven't been to bed. I'm in the middle of a prepare-for-finals weekend and I've decided to take this little break to write something here because it's been some days. By the way trying to get school shit done hungover isn't exactly fun.

Anyway, I sort of feel like I should write something positive and/or uplifting because it's that time of the year again and I know it's really easy to get frustrated and depressed when the holidays come, but I just want people to remember that this is a time to be happy, and instead of dwelling on what we don't have we should embrace what we do have. So to anybody who happens to read this Happy Holidays (that's not me trying to be PC rather I'm just too freaking tired to deal with typing more than that although I suppose I just typed way more than I had too with this little explanation...oh well).

I'll be back post-finals with the continuation of the Guy Code series, and some words on the Scrubs Season 2 DVD.
