Crickets Guide You Back
What does it say about yourself when you feel more comfortable lost than you do found? It says you're cool. It is so cool to be lost, lonely, and depressed. This isn't anything new either. Just look at the coolest figures in history. They were all the biggest loners in the world. What does that say about us as humans? Mainly it says that we value originality and independence. It's the black sheep that we love. The problem is those black sheep have to be, well, black sheep, and that can get to a person. So many of our bright lights dim out because they have only their genius going for them. They have what makes them so cool in one hand and nothing in the other, which insanely enough makes them even cooler. What happens is they just keep looking at that empty hand and want so badly to fill it with anything (even drugs), but it is so difficult to fill that hand, especially when so much of who you are is wrapped around the fact that the hand has always been empty. It's a horrible situation to be in, yet, some part of us always wants to be there. We want to be praised, and at the same time misunderstood. We want to be loved and accepted to the point where it defines us, yet we don't want it to define us. In other words, we are all freaking crazy. Deal with it.
